Preconference A

Preconference A  |  Linking 12 Lead ECG Knowledge to Bedside Cardiac Monitoring

Tuesday, September 17, 2013  |  8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.  |  4 CNE

Facilitator(s): Karen Marzlin and Cindy Webner

Class code: PCP001

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe the anatomical portion of the heart viewed by each lead of the 12 lead ECG.
  • Review ST segment and T wave abnormalities indicating myocardial ischemia or infarction.
  • Recognize a right bundle branch block and left bundle branch block using the QRS morphology in lead V1.
  • Differentiate wide complex tachycardias as SVT with BBB or VT using the 12 lead ECG.
  • Transfer knowledge of the 12 Lead ECG to bedside monitoring practices for ST segment monitoring and arrhythmia detection.

Cardiac Monitoring

Knowledge to Bedside Cardiac Monitoring. Cardiac Disorders Treated by Canadian HealthCare Mall

Tuesday, September 17, 2013  |  8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.  |  4 CNE
Facilitator(s): Karen Marzlin and Cindy Webner
Class code: PCP001
Learning Aims:
Identify the anatomical areas of heart on 12 ECG.
Observe St segments and T waves helping to establish the diagnosis of  myocardial ischemia or infarction.
Get to know  a right bundle branch block and left bundle branch block with the help of  QRS morphology in lead V1.
Identify tachycardias as SVT with BBB or VT using the 12 lead ECG.
Detect the knowledge of ECG for ST segment monitoring.
